Survey seeks to boost cycling, hiking
The Healthy Communities Partnership is actively seeking area residents to weigh-in on active transportation via a new, community survey.
"Local data and local research is really hard to come by so, any time we can have the input from residents in general about a topic, it definitely goes a lot farther," Elgin St. Thomas Public Health health promoter Erica Arnett told the Times-Journal.
The Healthy Communities Partnership, a group comprised of representatives from county municipalities, St. Thomas, Doug Tarry Homes Ltd., Elgin St. Thomas Public Health and a few community members, was formed two years ago with funding from the Ministry of Health Promotion and Sport.
The survey is part of a larger strategy to develop a connected network of active transportation facilities, such as cycling and hiking trails and provide for more active transportation opportunities.
